Resale rights
From 1 January 2012, the resale rights for art works in the Netherlands apply to living EU artists and to EU artists up to 70 years after their death. Zeeuws Veilinghuis recounts the resale fee to the buyer. The resale right fee applies from € 3000 over the selling price including buyer’s premium (excluding. VAT) and is calculated as follows:
4% of the part of the selling price up to and including € 50,000
3% of the part of the selling price from € 50,000.01 to € 200,000
1% of the part of the selling price from 200,000.01 to € 350,000
0.5% of the part of the selling price from € 350,000.01 to € 500,000
0.25% of the part of the selling price higher than € 500,000
The total amount to be paid is subject to a maximum of € 12,500. More information about the resale rights can be found here (Dutch only).
