Bidding

1) Bidding in the room

For live bidding in the sale room, a bidding number is required. By holding up the bidding number you place your bid. Bid numbers can be obtained at the reception during the viewing days.

2) Absentee bidding

If you cannot be present at the auction, it is possible to leave an absentee bid. You will inform us about your maximum bid amount. If the auction ends under what you agreed, you have won the item. You do not always pay your maximum bid. For example, if the bidding is increased with 100 euros and others do not bid more than 1500 euros, while your maximum absentee bid is 2000 euros, the item will be sold to you for 1600 euros.

Absentee bids can be placed by sending us an email or by filling out an absentee bid form during our viewing days.

3) Telephone bidding

If you wish to bid by phone, we will call you during the auction so you can bid live. As it takes some time to organize the requests for telephone bidding, this is only possible from € 500. We also assume that, if you reserve a line for telephone bidding, you are willing to bid the lower estimate.

Reservations for phone bidding can be made by sending an e-mail to auction@zeeuwsveilinghuis.nl. Don’t forget to include your name, address and phone number.

In addition to the lot number(s), we prefer to receive a short description of the lot(s) to prevent misunderstandings.

Telephone and absentee bids can also be registered during the viewing days by filling out a form.

4) Live online bidding

For live online bidding during the auction, please register by clicking the button ‘Register to Bid’ in our online catalogue, as shown in the image below.

PLEASE NOTE: for lots with relatively high estimates, we sometimes do not accept live online bids. If this is the case, it will be stated in the description of the lot in our online catalogue.

5) Timed-online auction

During our timed-online auction, you can place your bids online until the specified time the auction of the lot ends. Usually, our timed-online auctions will run 1 – 2 weeks. With this type of auction, it is not possible to participate by telephone bid or by bidding in the room; only via the internet! However, just as for the live auctions, a few viewing days are organized, offering you the chance to have a look at the lots.

In order to participate in our timed-online auctions, please register by clicking the button ‘Register to Bid’ in our online catalogue, as shown in the image below.

The following applies to all bidding methods

New customers need to identify themselves once. This can be done via e-mail by sending a scan or photo of their valid passport to auction@zeeuwsveilinghuis.nl. If preferred, it is allowed to cover the passport photo and personal number on your copy. In some cases, additional information may be requested.

When sending us your details by e-mail, please state whether this is for absentee, telephone or live online bidding. In case you want to bid live in our sale room, it is of course possible to identify yourself when getting a bidding number.

Please make sure to register well in advance of the auction. Only then access to bidding can be guaranteed. Keep in mind that the time for registration on auction days can be minimal and that we have to check every request (also for live online bidding).
